He loves to drink and get into trouble and now he is paying for it, as he always does. Golfs bad boy John Daly announced he is suspended for six months by the PGA. This comes after his arrest on Oct 26 out side a Hooters restaurant for being drunk, Daly spent the night in jail to sleep it off. “Is it fair that I got suspended? It’s not fair in reality, but it’s probably fair in perception,” Daly was quoted. This is the second time Daly now 42 has been suspended. He will continue to play in the European tour, starting with a three-week swing in the UAE. Maybe it will be harder for him to find booze out there and he can play some golf, but who knows with Daly. -

The New York Mets are working hard in the off season. There is a report that they made a three year offer worth $36 million to Derek Lowe. Lowe’s agent Scott Boras would not confirm the offer. It is rumored Boras is looking for a five year contract way higher then the $12 million a year the Mets offered. Lowe was 14-11 with a 3.24 ERA, he spent seven years with the Red Sox and had 42 saves. He is a two time All-Star with a 3.75 ERA and 85 saves in his career. -

- Chris Snyder is getting three more years and a $14.25 million extension with the Diamondbacks.
- Now Manny is the Dodgers first choice. One day we hear the Dodgers are not waiting around for him and now its there first choice. But there is still no deal on the table, so if its there first choice why won’t they talk with Manny’s agent? Once again no MLB teams have stepped up to sign this guy.
- Red Sox are having a hard time signing players. Rumor has it that the Sox tried to get Hanley Ramirez after losing Mark Teixeira but it looks like the Marlins didn’t hear anything they liked.

It doesn’t look like the Dodgers are going to sit around and wait for Manny Ramirez to make up his mind if he wants to keep playing for them. Sources say the team has contacted Adam Dunn to express interest in the power hitter. Dunn who has had 40 home runs a year for the last four years would be a good addition for the team since no Dodger has had a 40 home run season since 2004.The Dodgers are not the only team looking at Dunn, it has been reported that the Cubs have been on the top of Dunns list of teams he wants to play for. That is until the Dodgers got into the mix. This could be bad for the Cubs since the team that has been swept two years in a row in the first round of the post season has not made any real good deals yet. With the Cubs raising season ticket prices when most teams are not fans are going to be looking for them to do more this year. Dunn will most likely require a no draft-pick compensation because Arizona former team did not offer him arbitration.
No one really knows why Manny has not been signed yet, expect for Manny. If I had to guess, the only reason one of the best hitters in baseball does not have a deal yet is all because of Manny. There must be something keeping teams from flocking to him to hand him a lot of cash. Could be all that stuff that went on in Boston before he was traded to the Dodgers? As a MLB team would you take a $100 million shot on him?
