Filed under: Andy Roddick, Brooklyn Decker, Men's Tennis, Roger Federer, Sports, Sports Illustrated, Swimsuit Issue, Tennis, Wimbledon; No Comments
It was a match for the ages as Roger Federer defeated American Andy Roddick in a record Men’s Wimbledon Finals. The final score – 5-7, 7-6, 7-6, 3-6, 16-14. The 77 games played by the 2 competitors was a record for a 5-set match. The 16-14 5th set score was the highest score ever in a 5th set Wimbledon match. The 30 games played in the 5th set was also the most games ever played in a set. Federer had 50 aces in the match – a personal record for him. Shockingly, Federer never even broke Roddick once until that 77th game that gave him the win. Roddick had broken Federer twice during the match.
Federer became the game’s greatest player ever – winning a record 15th Grand Slam title. Pete Sampras previously held the record with 14 Grand Slam Titles. Sampras and legendary tennis players Bjorn Borg and Rod Laver were on hand to congratulate Federer at the end of the match.

Serena Williams Defeats Big Sis Venus Williams in Wimbledon Finals
Filed under: Serena Williams, Sports, Sports and Hot chicks, Tennis, The Williams' Sisters, Venus Williams, Wimbledon; No Comments
Serena Williams defeated big sister Venus Williams in the Women’s Wimbledon Finals at the All England Club on Saturday July 4th. It was a fairly easy win for Serena who won the 1st set tie-breaker 7-3, and then cruised to the match win with a 6-2 second set drubbing. The numbers said it all: 12 aces, 25 winners and 12 unforced errors for Serena as opposed to 2 aces, 14 winners and 18 unforced errors for Venus. It was Serena’s 3rd Wimbledon Title and 11th Grand Slam title overall. Serena had beaten Venus in the 2002 and 2003 Wimbledon Finals, while Venus had beaten Serena in last year’s Wimbledon Finals. Serena’s win prevented Venus from becoming the 1st women to win 3 straight Wimbledon titles since Steffi Gras did so from 1991-1993.
What a great day for American tennis in England on July 4th!

Andy Roddick in Wimbledon Mens Finals – That Means More Pics of Hottie Brooklyn Decker
Filed under: Andy Roddick, Brooklyn Decker, Men's Tennis, Sports, Sports and Hot chicks, Swimsuit Issue, Tennis, Wimbledon; No Comments
Any reason to show more pics of hottie Brooklyn Decker. American Andy Roddick defeated Swiss player Andy Murray in 4 sets to advance to the Men’s Wimbledon Finals on Sunday morning. It was a huge accomplishment for Roddick, as Murray had beaten Roddick 18 of the 20 times the 2 tennis players had met. But Roddick saved a big break point with Murray leading 4-3 in the 4th set and then went on to make great plays in the 3rd and 4th set tie-breakers en route to the 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (7), 7-6 (5) win. Roddick had this to say about reaching the finals: “To be honest, the last couple of years I didn’t know if I’d ever get a chance to play for another Grand Slam title. Now I get to. It’s just a dream… I had to play my best tennis out there to win today. I can’t say enough good things about Andy’s game, but I can play some tennis sometimes, and not many people were giving me much of a chance at all and I knew if I could stay the course that I had a shot and that’s all you can ask for.” Great and congrats Andy. But now on to better things. Enjoy our sensational friend Brooklyn – Roddick’s fiance…

Venus & Serena Williams – Wimbledon Women’s Finals
Filed under: Dinara Safina, Serena Williams, Sports, Sports and Hot chicks, Tennis, The Williams' Sisters, Venus Williams, Wimbledon; No Comments
Venus Williams and Serena Williams will meet in the Women’s Finals of Wimbledon at the All England Club on Saturday July 4th. It is the 2nd consecutive year that the 2 Williams sisters will meet in the Wimbledon finals. Serena defeated big sis Venus in the 2002 and 2003 Wimbledon finals, while Venus defeated younger sister Serena last year. Venus has won the last 2 Wimbledon titles and is bidding to win 3 in a row – the first time a woman has won 3 championships in a row since Steffi Graf did so from 1991 through 1993. A Williams sister has won 7 of the last 9 Wimbledon championships.
The 2 sisters reached the finals in vastly different semi-finals matches. Venus defeated top-seeded Dinara Safina in just 51 minutes – 6-1, 6-0. She had this to say about her win: “Oh, my God, this is my 8th final, and it’s a dream come true to be here again and have the opportunity to hold the plate up… A fourth [of July] final – it’s so exciting.”
Serena saved one match point and defeated Elena Dementieva in 3 sets (6-7, 7-5, 8-6) in 2 hours and 49 minutes. It was the longest women’s semifinals match since records started being kept in 1969.
