The NFL coaching carousel continued on Friday night in a shocking firing of one of the more tenured NFL head coaches. In a move that was even surprising to the coach, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers fired Head Coach John Gruden, who had coached the Bucs for the last 7 years. Gruden led the Bucs to a Super Bowl win over his former team – the Oakland Raiders – in the Super Bowl in 2002 when he was only 39 years old. During the 2008 NFL season, however, Gruden’s Bucs started the season 9-3 but then collapsed by losing the last 4 games of the season to miss the playoffs.

The Bucs are expected to name Raheem Morris the new head coach.
